1. To convert mpeg to avi, If the MPEG file is encoded with MPEG1 format, you do not need to install any additional MPEG decoder. If the file is encoded with MPEG1.1 or 2.0, please install the appropriate dvd player such as WinDVD  Player or PowerDVD Player for the mpeg decoder. (MPEG stands for Moving Pictures Expert Group)

If your do not install the appropriate avi video or audio encoder such as DivX, XviD you want, please install it first.

2 Launch Open Video Converter, click the Open Video button, select an mpeg file for mpeg to avi.

3. Click the Options button to set the output file name, resolution, frame rate, audio compressor etc. if needed. Select the video compressor, the converter can convert mpeg to divx or convert mpeg to xvid.

4. If you want to convert the whole mpeg file to avi, click the Convert button.

If you want to convert some part of the mpeg file, drag the slide bar directly, or click the Play button to preview the mpeg file, set the Start Time and the End Time. At last, click the Convert button to start to convert mpeg to avi.

3GPP means Generation Partnership Project. 3GPP is the third generation (3G) cell phone system specification between many countries. To convert 3GPP to avi, please install 3GPP codec such as HDX4.
